Artist's Description

This is another of Francois' Birthday paintings. April 20th was a rainy day so the pastel was painted from a third story vantage point. The painting was chosen from over 90 entries to be included in the "Artists of the Seacoast- Families First" Calendar for 2013 as the October painting. It was featured in an exhibit at Discover Portsmouth in the summer of 2013 commemorating the memorial bridge.

Temporal artistic license. Back to the biography....In 1974, solidifying a lifelong interest in drawing, Francois took an oil painting course. You might say he took time for a career, family and life in general for 27 years (hey, we all have times like that.) In 2001, he renewed his interest in painting . A lifelong camera bug, he had developed an understanding of composition, light and color .He is self taught with his art- with the help of the odd seminar. He is a member of the Plein Air Painters of Maine....
